The Imagine Institute believes in grassroots professional development that works for those working in early learning. It’s that simple. We strive to respect the knowledge early learning professionals already possess from years of hard work and to grow our skills to best meet the needs of the children in our care. Child care providers and other early learning professionals influence all levels of our work, from the FCC trainers on the ground to our Curriculum Committee, all the way to our Board President, a retired family child care provider of 14 years. We work to make sure that the professional development system meets our needs.
We'd love to hear from you.
We offer a range of courses tailored to family child care providers. Our curriculum and incentives are reviewed by a team of experienced family child care and center workers to make sure they are relevant and meaningful to our colleagues. Click here to find a class in your areas.
We are currently working to assist family child care providers in meeting their minimum education requirement. In addition to helping providers connect with Initial Certificate programs across the state, we have crafted an innovative and individualized Initial Certificate program in partnership with Skagit Valley College and Everett Community College. This program allows providers to take their Initial Certificate from home but with the support and community of a traditional classroom. All participants are assigned a mentor who helps provide tools and resources to each student as they progress through the course. email email@example.com for more information.
BECOMING A STATE APPROVED TRAINER
The Imagine Institute and SEIU 925 have pioneered a new approach to becoming state-approved. We have worked with DEL to create a two-day training that gives family child care providers the chance to become a state-approved trainer. If you’re interested in becoming a state-approved trainer and training for Imagine, email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Coming to your area in 2017! The Imagine Institute is partnering with the Department of Early Learning to create and administer the Washington State Early Learning Substitute Pool. We expect to launch this exciting new resource in early 2017. If you are interested in hiring a substitute, or becoming a substitute, please email email@example.com.

The Imagine Institute believes in relationship-based learning. We have therefore created a 3 credit course with Skagit Valley College called “The Imagine Institute Mentor” that allows family child care providers to learn how to coach their peers while also working directly with providers to help them complete their Initial Certificate.
Beginning in July 2017, The Imagine Institute will spearhead a revolutionary new mentoring program that aims to grow the field of family child care, while supporting current providers in finding high quality and reliable assistants. If you would be interested in mentoring a new early learning professional in your home, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
