PREPARE for Care
Trauma-Informed Early Childhood Education
Module 5: Understanding Early Social Development

Young children notice similarities and differences among people from an early age. At this age, children may begin behaviors that exclude peers from play without understanding their behavior. Because of this, providers are uniquely situated to educate children about these critical and complex issues. Participants will learn developmentally appropriate strategies for encouraging kindness, respect, empathy, and positive relationships while partnering with families to understand attitudes that may impact child behavior.
