The Department of Children, Youth, and Families and SEIU 925 have reached an agreement, and we are excited to announce access of UP TO 50 FREE HOURS OF FULLY PAID SUBSTITUTE TIME PER MONTH starting March 1st!
These hours can be used however you wish, including to cover sick days, training and professional development, or vacation!

WHO IS ELIGIBLE?
To qualify, you must meet the following criteria:
- Be a licensed family home child care provider and open for business
- Have served a child on subsidy within the last 12 months
- Watch our online facility orientation
HOW DO I USE MY FREE UNION BENEFIT SUBSTITUTE HOURS?
All requests must be submitted online or by calling us at 206-492-5249. Be sure to select “Union Benefit Day” as the vacancy reason.
HOW HAS THE HOURS ELIGIBILITY CHANGED?
Previously, facilities were eligible for up to 50 hours of fully paid substitute hours per year. In response to the impact of COVID-19, eligible facilities may now request 50 hours of substitute time per month starting Monday, March 1st through June 30th or until funds are exhausted.
IF I ALREADY USED 50 HOURS THIS YEAR, AM I STILL ELIGIBLE?
Yes! Even if you already used 50 hours this fiscal year, you are welcome to take advantage of the expanded substitute hours of 50 hours per month from March 1-June 30.
CAN I USE MY PREFERRED SUBSTITUTE?
Yes! You may select your preferred substitute as long as they meet DCYF qualifications and have been pre-approved. You may also select a professional from our pool of substitutes. Want to refer someone you already know to cover your vacancies? Review substitute qualifications here.

El Departamento de Niños, Jóvenes y Familias junto a SEIU 925 han llegado a un acuerdo, nos complace anunciar el acceso a HASTA 50 HORAS GRATUITAS DE TIEMPO COMPLETAMENTE PAGO PARA SUSTITUTOS POR MES hasta el 30 de junio.
Estas horas se pueden utilizar para lo que usted desee ¡incluso para cubrir días de enfermedad, capacitación y desarrollo profesional o vacaciones!

¿QUIEN ES ELEGIBLE?
Para calificar, debe cumplir con los siguientes requisitos:
- Ser un proveedor de cuidado infantil en casa con licencia y estar abierto.
- Haber servido a un niño con subsidio en los últimos 12 meses.

¿CÓMO PUEDO UTILIZAR MIS HORAS GRATUITAS DE BENEFICIO DE LA UNIÓN PARA SUSTITUTOS?
Todas las solicitudes deben enviarse en línea o llamándonos al 206-492-5249. Asegúrese de seleccionar “Union Benefit Day” como la opción para agendar sus horas.
¿CÓMO HA CAMBIADO LA ELEGIBILIDAD PARA LAS HORAS?
Anteriormente, las instalaciones eran elegibles para hasta 50 horas de de tiempo completamente pago para sustitutos por año. En respuesta al impacto de COVID-19, ahora las instalaciones elegibles pueden solicitar 50 horas de tiempo pago para sustitutos por mes hasta el 30 de junio o hasta que se agoten los fondos.
SI YA UTILIZÉ 50 HORAS ESTE AÑO ¿SIGO SIENDO ELEGIBLE?
¡Sí! Incluso si ya utilizó 50 horas este año fiscal, lo invitamos a aprovechar las horas para sustitutos ampliadas a 50 horas por mes hasta el 30 de junio.
¿PUEDO USAR A MI SUSTITUTO PREFERIDO?
¡Sí! Puede seleccionar su sustituto preferido siempre y cuando esa persona cumpla con los requisitos de DCYF y haya sido aprobado con antelación.
